FAQs
Can I just heat the spa?
Unfortunately, no. Since the spa and pool water flow together in order to heat the spa, the pool must be heated as well. It takes 1 hour, after you turn it on, for the spa to reach 100 degrees from the pool heat of 80 degrees.
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, we can accept dogs, but not cats. Our children are allergic to cats. It is $125 per pet per visit. We ask that you do not leave your dog alone in the house unless it is penned. We have provided a pen and dog bowls. Dogs must be walked and cleaned up after. The resort has several dog waste stations. Do not use anyone’s trash cans for a dog waste bag, we get fined by our HOA for loose bag under 13 gallon kitchen bag sized.
What if I decide to heat the pool?
Pool heat is $40 per day for the extent of your stay. You can let me know and I will adjust your price to include it. In order to avoid a $25 turn on fee from the pool maintenance man I will need to be informed and the pool fee must be paid by the Saturday before your trip. The pool takes 1 full day to heat up.
If I clean before I leave can I NOT pay the cleaning fee?
No. Everyone’s standards are different. Everyone deserves a professional clean when they arrive.
The only things I request from you is:
Take out the trash daily. The community has a vendor that collects all trash bagged in 13 gallon bags everyday. HOA will fine us for any ripped bags or loose trash. This is to prevent flies and raccoons.
Run the dishwasher before you leave.
Clean up after your pet immediately.
Why do you charge for pets?
Pet hair requires more time cleaning.
I am a non-profit, why am I being charged taxes?
Proving all the steps were taken properly is very difficult if I get audited. I also book on VRBO and AirBNB, if they are willing to honor it and accept the required paperwork we can book those platforms instead. Just a heads up, they charge fees to the owner and renter.
Why do you charge a security deposit?
Things happen. I am not a large company, its just my husband and me. With up to 20 people in the house you may not even be aware someone in your party damaged or forgot to return my property. VRBO offers an insurance policy starting at $99, when I figure that option out I will include it. Until then I require a $500 security deposit. If you’d like we can book on that platform, just a heads up, they charge fees to the renter too.
$20 for an access card, 6 car limit!? What gives?
Unfortunately, I don’t have any control over the access card fee. I have to pay it for myself and my family as well.
As for the car limit, sometimes the community has issues with people throwing parties that would block the roads with too many cars. In order to combat that they limit the cars and require that all cars park on one side of the street depending on the month of the year
What if I have more than 20 people?
The house only sleeps 20. If you plan on having a guest for the DAY the gatehouse needs to be told so they know to let them through.
Are there any cameras?
Yes. In case there is an issue at the house, there is the doorbell is a ring camera and there is a camera pointed at the back patio doors, driveway and side of the house. If you press the doorbell I get notified, but it makes no noise in the house.
Do you have any safety measures?
Yes.
Smoke detectors in the house wired to the alarm by the door. There is not a carbon monoxide detecter since we have no gas appliances.
Baby gates at the top and bottom of the steps.
Pool fence with self-closing gate.
Double locks on the patio doors.
Second deadbolt on front door with only interior access, no key entry.
Grab bars getting into downstairs garden tub, spa, pool and around downstairs toilets.
Can I get an Uber/Lyft, deliveries?
Yes, most companies deliver to the house. There is no post boxes so nothing can be sent to the house via USPS. Check before you send it if the company has USPS deliver, sometimes Amazon orders don’t arrive because FedEx using USPS. There is a shipping store a couple miles away that may offer a service for getting deliveries sent there.

Flat Iron/Curling Iron? Yes, if you use it.
